naturalistic set up for leaf tailed geckos

I decided to put together a viv with a few plants in, not exactly what they would live on in the wild but more of a mini garden in a viv Heres a couple of photos of the viv and the geckos enjoying it ( any excuse to take photos of reptiles )

My female Uroplatus ebenaui, Skye, exploring the viv

The juvenile, Tarragon

and Ash my male

Nice setup! I love those Exo-Terra cages that you have, I have alot of them. They are a little pricey, but worth it to me.

Very nice. I like how that looks. Sure looks like the leaftails are enjoying it.

Love the name Tarragon as well. Was going to use that one myself for a crestie once upon a time.

Re: naturalistic set up for leaf tailed geckos

I have had great success with succulents, this one will be a bit trial and error - the soil around it will be kept drier than the rest of the viv and better drained, fingers crossed it will work. If not I will try something else.

Very nice vivarium you got there, but I have a question for you: Why the use of those succulents in such a tropical setup? Are all the plants fairing well for you? I only ask as two species you have in there, we have in our arid room with cacti, euphorbias, etc.

Re: naturalistic set up for leaf tailed geckos

Hiya
I really like succulents and just wanted to see if they would work in any vivs. I have kept lots before in an alpine garden - quite different to the viv. I know they fair well in well drained dry conditions. I am only spraying the back of the viv and trying to keep the succulents drier. It will be interesting to see if they survive. If they dont then I will simply replace them with something else.

Great pictures and great setup,Ash looks evil in that picture.

How long have you been keeping these?

Have you had any breeding success?
