Yellow pinstripe project ( plus a few others)
Hey everyone, I just thought I'd share some photos of a few geckos we produced over the past 10 months or so, that were from our Yellow pinstripe project.
These are probably the most anticipated eggs in the incubator, when we have them going. Every single one so far has been quite interesting, and I can't wait to see them as adults. First off is 'Sideburns' I'm sure many of you have already seen him. He hatched out with exceptionally long lateral stripe scales. Overall he's got a nice golden color, and is about a 90+% pinstripe ![]() Here's another angle, which shows about how far off of him the side scales protrude. ![]() ![]() Also, his leg fringe is quite long as well, as shown here ![]() Next up are others from the same pairing. another male, month younger than side burns ![]() and the above geckos clutchmate, a female ![]() and here's probably my favorite of the bunch, atleast color/contrast wise.... a hopeful female ![]() A random shot of the above gecko ![]() Another pinstripe, not from the yellow pinstripe project, but from the same male. From this line, we were shooting for very long pinstripe scales ![]() And finally, two more pinstripes from an unrelated pairing. Both are less than 2 months old. ![]() and this one, will hopefully be female, so it can be bred to 'sideburns' when old enough. ![]() And just another one I snapped a photo of today.... ![]() that one is from our red/cream project.... I can't wait to see how it turns out, as the cream keeps getting whiter and whiter, and the red, redder and redder! Thanks for looking!

Re: Yellow pinstripe project ( plus a few others)
Those are some sweet geckos Andrew. Awesome lines you have going there. The one with elongate fringe scales is cool. I haven't seen one like that before.
How old are they by the way? At what age can you really tell whether they are male or female? It seems like they are quite small yet, but you are probably a whiz at louping. Great shots on all of them by the way. You do a great job of taking pics when their color seems best.

Re: Yellow pinstripe project ( plus a few others)
Kyle, I can usually sex them without a loupe by the time they hit 6 grams or so ( or 6 months). I don't know the exact ages of the above geckos, but I'd say most of them are 6-8 months, except for the two tiny pinstripes.
Also, I put them all in individual deli cups with a damp paper towel about 15-20 minutes prior to taking photos.... that is when they will color up best, if at all. Next plan for Sideburns is to breed him to several full lateral stripe females, to see if we can't get full elongated lateral stripes.... thanks for the comments.

Wow, great pictures. Is that last one from HotPants? Holy cow! What a beauty! That white is really sharp against the red!

All amazing looking animals - I particularly like the one you commented on about the high contrast/colour: she (hopefully) is beautiful.
