Re: Diet for Chahoua ????

This topic has been covered in the SuperFood forum. You may want to look there.

The basic idea, as I recall, is that any of the diets should be acceptable for R. chahoua.

In general, I have been told, and found personally, that chahoua prefer more live prey in their diet than some of the other Rhacs.

That's a new one for me. I've never heard that before. I don't want to hijack this thread but this it too interesting to pass up.

Has anyone else noticed this with their chahoua? I can see them not eating every day or other day but every three weeks or so? Even once a week seems off to me.

Re: Diet for Chahoua ????

I too have noticed they prefer crickets to fruit/b a b y food. I feed mine crickets twice a week and fruit pulp once. I have noticed they are very quick growers in comparison to other rhacs. Although that's more likely to be due to them eating more livefood.

Re: Diet for Chahoua ????

My Pine Isle adults eat a mix of T-Rex Crested diet and ****food 3x weekly and B. dubia roaches 1x weekly. They are very enthusiastic for the live prey.

I am slowly phasing out the **** food so they will just be on the T-Rex diet.

Do yours eat adult male dubia roaches? The roaches look too big to feed to my cresties, but I've got a bunch now. If so, how many would you offer at a feeding? Thanks in advance!

Re: Diet for Chahoua ????

No, the adult dubia roaches are far too big for a Chahoua. I feed mine nymphs that are about the size of a large cricket.
