Having two geckos shipped to me from CA.
There is a individual who has never shipped a gecko before shipping me two geckos. I wanted to know if I'm better off going through someone who has done it before as opposed to a first timer? I don't want to receive dead/damaged geckos.
I didn't know what temps it's needs to be for the shipment of a gecko. I'm near Chicago so I semi concerned about the distance, and everything. I appreciate any information, help, info.. etc.. I want to be confident going through with this.

Re: Having two geckos shipped to me from CA.
I am concerned as to why you keep buying all of these geckos when you have just started out and obviously do not know all the ins and outs to keeping them yet (basic husbandry). I would suggest you look into what exactly you are doing and reevaluate it all.
I am not trying to bash you for getting into reptiles, but take it easy. It has been maybe a month I believe since you first posted about your first crested and now you are up to 8 possibly more??? If you are in it to try and make money as stated plenty of times around on this forum, you are WRONG, and most definitely will not happen with the Cresteds that you have obtained based on traits and or structure. Plus the market is already over saturated with them. I have seen too many people do what you are doing and then several months later, you see them posting "entire collection sale" because they have gotten bored with them and don't have the infatuation that they did a few months before. Or we see posts with F-ed up animals because of the lack of knowledge the keeper has on them which also results in the bills being proposed all around the US due to inexperienced keepers doing the wrong thing.

Re: Having two geckos shipped to me from CA.
I understand your concern. They were a gift for my bf for valentines day. He wanted a pair for himself, and a watch. All mine are doing well btw in their won containers.. I decided against having them shipped since I didn't feel safe, and just went with a local breeder. Thanks for your concern.

Re: Having two geckos shipped to me from CA.
In general, go to Ship Your Reptiles - Ship Live Reptiles Easily, Securely and Affordably and read their info (I think they have a video too) about shipping. THen, if you get into this situation again, you can ask the shipper how they plan to package the gecko and you'll know what answer to expect. I shipped reptiles for the first time a few years ago and was able to do it correctly based on the info on this website, as well as having taken apart boxes of geckos that were shipped to me.
