Re: whats wrong?? not pooing please help

How long would you say it's been since he stopped pooping? Just to be sure, you're mixing the CGD with water, right?

Do you have a picture of him?

You said he has CGD powder. Are you mixing it with water? It's supposed to be mixed with two parts water to 1 part CGD before you feed it.

Re: whats wrong?? not pooing please help

Sorry, I know it sounded like a stupid question but I have seen folks that feed the diet dry. I'd try the sauna. Put him in a cup or tupperware type container with a little water in it, or a wet paper towel. Make sure there is water droplets on the sides. Try it about twenty minutes at a time, and it might help him go.

I don't remember what substrate you're using, but if it's a natural type like coconut fiber then it could be easy to miss.

Re: whats wrong?? not pooing please help

I know with my tiger salamander, he's on coco fiber and he's has pretty large poops, but I hardly ever find them because they seem to break down pretty well in the coco fiber. So if you have that as a substrate then you may not find much poops. If not then perhaps maybe decrease how many crickets you give your gecko? Try perhaps a few a week or something. Most people seem to only feed crickets to their geckos very sparingly because they can decide to hold off on eating their CGD for the yummier crickets which aren't really a good diet for them. Crickets are usually used as more of a treat with CGD being the bulk of their diet.

Re: whats wrong?? not pooing please help

Your gecko may have ingested some substrate if you feed the crickets in the tank.

If I were you I would stop feeding for a few days if you're 100% he's not eating because it would only add to the blockage in the stomach.

I like the sauna idea.

Re: whats wrong?? not pooing please help

I would increase the ratio of water to CGD. I took in a male that was only being fed dusted dubias and crickets who was constipated a few months back. I added one extra part water to the CGD, kept him in a rubbermaid tub with only a cork slab and moist paper towels (easier to monitor poops), and did not offer any bugs. Kept the temp at 77F with 70-74 humidity and he was just fine by the 4th day.

Also, the fluker's rept aid has come in handy for geckos under the weather in the past. I'm not sure if it's great for cresteds, so you might want to ask other, more experienced members first. It has helped a few geckos that I have taken in that were in bad shape.

Hope everything turns out for the better!
