Re: New Product Feedback Request (special offer)

OMG I so wish I hadn't seen that photo.

I've seriously got shivers and goosebumps... roaches!

IDK what the percentage of roach-phobic people is out there, but I don't see that selling well in Florida at least, with that photo... might I suggest maybe sticking with crickets?

Entirely likely that's just my own phobic bias speaking, but thought I'd throw it out there...

Re: New Product Feedback Request (special offer)

I like the photo the way they have it. It shows a wide range of insects lovin' the product, so pretty most keepers will see their feeder of choice in that pic. Plus I don't really think they're going to lose sales over roaches being on the label.

And... may I say that once you experience the superiority of the roach as a feeder over all other insects, you might just be less roach-a-phobic.

Re: New Product Feedback Request (special offer)

Thanks Allen for staying true to your word as you have always done!!

I purchased the bug burger as seen above and received the two free as mentioned above in Allen's first post.
I just made my first batch and am actually waiting for it to cool down still but am going to give a report as of now and come back later for the final words.
If you are a person who does not like to stir their CGD or take too much time in making food for your geckos this might not be the product for you even though it takes all of 5 min to make. It does take a little more stirring to make sure it is all mixed up and not clumped up so the mixture forms correctly. I microwaved it and started it on 2 minutes (the label states it should start bubbling within 2-3 min) and mine started to bubble within the first 45 seconds. I let it go for one whole minute. I took it out and stirred as directed and am now waiting for it to cool completely. It has already started to take a congealed form, but is still not ready 20 minutes after heating it(it still hasn't cooled all the way). The product doesn't smell bad at all IMO and is a great idea and I can't wait to see how the roaches and Crickets respond to it. The directions are well written, easily understood and pretty much on point with measurements except for the time period to microwave it as mentioned above.
I am currently using Flukers Orange Cubes for the crickets and roaches and a Roach food made by Greg's Exotic Inverts (which they love). I will keep these foods in there with them and add this new Bug Burger in there and see what they like more and repost with more feedback. Overall as of now I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is in the market for a "gut loader" for insects.

Re: New Product Feedback Request (special offer)

Ok, I just made another batch and left it in there for the full 2 minutes and the "burger" seems much thicker than the one I left in there for one minute.

Re: New Product Feedback Request (special offer)

Mixed up my first batch, no clumping problems at all. Cooled it in the fridge, again no problems. Just put it in with the dubia and crickets, and we'll see how they like it. Within two minutes I saw dubia going at it.

So far it looks good to me for the following reasons:

water AND food in one product
ease of use- easy to mix, keeps in the fridge, I can freeze it
I don't have to worry if my feeders, and in turn my geckos are getting proper nutrition
THE BIG ONE- I know I'm gut loading good stuff, this is especially exciting to me for my Uroplatus

the thing that will have to wait til Christmas or even next year to answer:

if I see a noticeable difference in my geckos health, behavior or egg laying.

So far this stuff is a big thumbs up, and I'll report back in when I've ran through the three bags I got today.

Re: New Product Feedback Request (special offer)

I will second everything Pakinjak has said, I just put in a few cubes in with the Discoids and they were at it in no time. I am definitely switching over to this food for my roaches and crickets. Again, I highly recommend this product and all of Allen's products!!
