Greetings all! Please forgive me if this thread is misplaced. It's my first on this forum and therefore will probably reflect a bit of inexperience with the setup.
I'm wondering if someone out there can help me to identify the gecko in the photo found at this link: All sizes | Dwarf Ground Gecko | Flickr - Photo Sharing! I'm told it's a "dwarf ground gecko", but I'm really interested in finding out more about it, what its scientific name is, where it can be found in the world, etc. I'm told it's from the Amazon, but the person telling me has no other info. Thank you so much for any help or assistance you can offer. What a delight to stumble upon a forum such as this! I look forward to learning and exploring it further. My best, Z |

Re: dwarf ground gecko?
Welcome to the forums.
![]() After a little bit of research, perhaps they are part of the tropiocolotes genus? Tropiocolotes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia And perhaps related to these: Tropiocolotes I found this thread on the forums...maybe Gecko Ranch knows a bit more about them. ![]() http://www.forums.repashy.com/tropio...steudneri.html BTW, this seems to be the same guy from Flickr. I dunno if you have seen this picture yet. http://pets.webshots.com/photo/10487...39525762wYqVVG lol sorry for all of the links...but this page from that guy on Flickr actually says what their scientific name is (Tropiocolotes steudneri - Dwarf Ground Gecko): http://www.flickr.com/photos/2565605...7604654990308/

Re: dwarf ground gecko?
Thanks so much, sakasuvaki! I've been in touch with the owner of the photo - thanks for the links - and he has confirmed it to be T. steudneri.
I appreciate all your help in getting it settled! |
