Drew if I could give you a "Thanks to the tenth power" I would do it, but alas, a normal "thanks" on your post will have to do. You just made my week for sure. No homo, I love you. Please post these pics on the size comparison thread!!!
Thanks Andrew, I thought you would enjoy the pics. Does anyone have an idea of the next heaviest leachianus gecko they have seen proof of...?

Well this is my area of specialty. Steve has pics up on his website with animals on scales, I'm not sure how much they weigh off-hand. Steve has some animals close to 400 grams that he could probably provide pictures of at some time.

I know Alfredo (maguyon) has a sizeable F1 Female Yate around 370 grams and he has pictures of it on a scale and could provide them.

Allen has at least one adult GT larger than 450 grams, but it's up to him if he wants to post pictures or not.

Phil Tremper's adult Type Cs weigh close to 500 grams and are 13 plus inches SVL and about 17 inches TL, but no proof of their weight or length has been offered. There are pictures of the animals though, just not next to anything or on any scales. From the pictures though you can tell they have quite hefty body structure. The thing that's special about the Type Cs is they have much thicker necks, they're like the anacondas of leachianus. The thicker necks enable them to connect their over-size bodies to their heads. See the picture below...

Right on, thanks. I have seen the Type C's on Trempers site and they do look pretty bulky, but it is tough the judge weight from a pic with nothing to scale.

My male is not even 5yrs of age yet, and judging by the way he eats I am hoping that he will push close to 500g in the future. I also have 2 large females that I will try and get some shots of soon and current weights. One of them has been growing so fast that I think there is a good chance she will out size the male one day.

Thanks again!

Re: My MONSTER Male Grande Terre Yates

The secret is they come from parents that Aschnell says were way too small and could never produce a large gecko.

That's right. This gecko was produced by the pair of Yates in my possession (the pair discussed at length in this thread http://www.forums.repashy.com/rhacod...ts-pics-2.html) and then fed properly throughout it's entire life by its owner to reach optimal size. I believe, if I am not mistaken, this gecko was fed mainly pinkies and fuzzies throughout it's entire life.

The moral of the story is not all parents need to BE monsters to produce them!

Ok really now... Like really?

This is just making you look bad man, please don't put words in my mouth. I never said they couldn't produce offspring that large, and I also admitted that you had more experience in this area and accepted your statements as true after hearing from a few other people that GT offspring can get twice as heavy as the parents they were produced by. A similar phenomenon occurs with island geckos, but at the time I had only heard of island offspring (or GT offspring for that matter) weighing 30 - 40% more than their parents. So hopefully you can understand my initial skepticism when I heard for the first time that GT offspring could get up to twice as large as their parents.

I was over it, it's a bummer you clearly aren't.

Please let it go. That is all.

No secret, I feed CGD 3 times per week and pinkies / fuzzies once every two weeks. My large male GT will eat 8-10 in a sitting, and the females 4-6 each

Thanks!
