They were 3,1 grams so not big and not small. We don't know how long they will guard the eggs since we remove them once we find them.

Of course our chahoua always guard their eggs. Unless they are infertile. They never guard those.

Agree with the egg-guarding. I also usually will remove the reluctant female to a safer spot (haha) and remove the eggs for incubation. The 1 time that we did not do this was an experenment on how long they guard thier eggs, and in our experience it is around 48 hours/2 days. My female once actually kicked dirt onto the eggs as she left also (camo??).
Just to answer the original question, the longest was probably right around 170 days, I think. I am never in a big hurry to get them, though.....I want them to be as healthy as possible and absorb all of the natural nutrients from the egg that they can. Man.....I just want to end this by saying i love Chahoua. my favorite gecko overall, I think. |
