Re: I'm a Dad! 1st Yate Hatchlings

Hey Ivan, good to hear from you & congrats on your first pair of Yates. I think you'll really enjoy them! They seem to be the calmest of all the GTs and neither of my pair have ever tried to bite me. My guys have been through a lot recently as I had to relocate them to my mother-in-law's house where we stayed for a couple of weeks after the storm. But they are troopers and seemed to do fine in a tupperware container at room temperature for a while. Even little Stinky traveled well and continued to grow while "on the road". I asked my mother-in-law if she wanted to try hand feeding Stinky but she declined. LOL! I'll try to get some updated pix of him posted soon. Let us know how the new Yates settle in. Talk to you soon!

Ken

Thanks for the info , again truly sorry for your situation. My guys settled in right away I got them 2 weeks ago, I have a direct daughter of Bubba, and the boy is the son of Bubbas little brother. They never skipped a beat. I set them up and placed food in the enclosure, I checked on them the next morning and both food bowls were dry. They have yet to skip a meal those little chubbies. Love em.

Wow, given the genetics there Ivan, I would expect them to get HUGE! Keep that Repashy flowing and please keep us up to date with some pix.

Will do, Steve and I both agree these 2 could be huge. We weighed bubba while I was there he was at 486 grams, on an empty belly. I will continue to post pics as they grow. I have a thread going titled huge Yates. I don't want to hijack your thread here. Be well. Sending you God's blessings.

Thanks for you well wishes Ivan. We'll be fine ... but it will take us some time to completely get back on our feet. This is just the price you have to pay sometimes for living near the water.

Here are some recent photos of "Stinky". He's just about tripled his weight since hatching in September. He's a very cute, chubby little guy! He loves to comes out and be hand fed but he is also eating well on his own. This little guy is incredibly calm and has lost the urge to jump and run away when out of his tank.

He looks great! I love the fact that he (allmost) doesn't have any patterning

That's a handsome beast. He looks nice and fat. I was surprised to see him for sale in the classifieds. Good luck.

I hate to give him up Dave but i lost about half my house to Hurricane Sandy and the rebuild bills are piling p so I just really need the cash right now. My adult Yates are only 3 years old I figure with a little luck, I should get more next season.
