What to do with the 55 gallon???

Okay, so try and follow here as I know it is hard. I have a pretty gigantic industrial shelving unit for my Crested geckos and Chahoua. On top is my Mainland Chahoua "setup", and the 55-gallon (terrestrial) is at the end standing vacant. To utilize space, I was thinking to maybe separate it into 4 compartments for Chewy youngsters.
Do you like this idea, or do you maybe have a better idea?

Re: What to do with the 55 gallon???

Umm, I wouldn't do that because hatchling need their cages cleaned a fair amount and it seem like it would be hard to clean a split up tank like that. Why don't you put your chahoua in there?

Re: What to do with the 55 gallon???

Personally I do not really like 55 gallons because they are so long and narrow for arboreal gecko tanks, especially if you are going to put it on end like arboreal geckos like.

Re: What to do with the 55 gallon???

Supersecret....i do not want to put adult Chewys in a terrestrial tank. Not high enough for thier arboreal nature. As far as hatchlings, they will go into Critter Keepers, but I was thinking of utilizing it for Juvies. Should have been more clear so sorry. Should not be hard to clean BTW.
JTmoney- I agree and the tank was a hand-me-down. I would like to utilize it for something, though.....and all I really have is arboreal animals. No ideas, anyone?

I just sold off my last 55 gallon tank

I kept Red Ackie hatchlings in it for awhile.

29L is the largest aquarium I have on end, the rest of my tanks are custom builds mainly!

Re: What to do with the 55 gallon???

Okay....thats cool (please show me pictures haha)....BUT I still didnt really get an answer. Just to clarify, I am not trying to put it vertically.....I am trying to separated with glass peices so i can house Juvenile Mainland Chewys in it.
Again, i have to ask if this is a good idea?
Does anyone have a better idea?
measurements are 48"L x 14"D x 18"H BTW.....and I HAVE to keep it and not sell it.
Family hand-me-down.

Re: What to do with the 55 gallon???

Both posters have told you they don't think it's a good idea to use for chahoua hatchlings, I think they have answered your question, at least as best they can.

I'd suggest to get a new species you don't currently keep that would work well for the tank you have.

You could separate them but honestly I can get 55 gallon tanks for $40 and after building a custom lid for it and then separating them all out with glass you could buy 4-5 tubs or 10 gallons for that price / effort. I am just telling you what I would do with it personally.

I dont see any harm in it but its going to be a pain to clean and take care of them unless you are pretty good with building. You would have to put an individual lid on each of the separated compartments to make it do-able.

An individual rack!

Yeah, the demensions of 55 gallons are pretty funky for arboreal geckos any way you turn it.
