Re: Leo Rescue in Progress

From experience malnourished animals should be fed more often; they need as much calories as they can get. Every time I get in some pretty malnourished animals, they always get fed more if they can eat a lot of food. IF they are really emaciated, I'd go easy on the food, but fed to them in smaller amount everyday instead. Too much food can make a very emaciated animals very sick. But yours don't look too bad. I dust all my feeder with Calcium Plus every feeding, even with the healthy animals. You can give them a pinkie dusted with Calcium Plus once a week if you like since they're probably malnourished and need all the calories they can get. I have found that you dont have to leave a dish of calcium for them if you dust the food regularly. When my female was gravid, I fed her as much dusted roaches (dust with Calcium Plus) as she could possibly ate, and she has never had any problems after laying 5 clutches.

Re: Leo Rescue in Progress

They were fed by their previous owner and are not malnourished. They just needed a home. Both of them ate crickets this morning, and I plan to order some reptile vitamins and buy mealworms for them tomorrow.

Re: Leo Rescue in Progress

Here they are today.

Good morning!

The picture doesn't capture the brightness of his orange and purple.
