Omfg!!!!
ok, I don't know why things like this still shock me, and why I bother even looking on CL anymore... I sent a text and email to this guy right away saying I'll take the beardie today...I know they don't drink huge amounts, but they still drink!!! (my emphasis in the ad)... there are so many other things wrong with that, like not pooping for weeks... even the wife said it was ok to take the guy and rehome him...
from the ad: Free to good home, bearded dragon named Griz. We're moving and can't have him at the new place. His eating habits are 80% vegetables and 20% live crickets, he has very good sleeping patterns (his tank has a light with a timer on it). Care is like super minimal. You have to change the sand out once in awhile. Scoop poop when it poops which can range from a couple times a week to once every couple weeks. You don't even have to give it water, he doesn't drink. You don't have to play with him, but he doesn't mind being held at all. He doesn't bite or scratch. He does have sharp teeth and claws but he is very gentle to people.

Re: Omfg!!!!
This is actually kind of true. Beardies can go long periods of time without any water from misting or a bowl. If you feed mostly vegetables and fruits with high water content they are going to be ok. This isn't perfect care but it isnt abuse/neglect in my opinion either. It is best to soak them once a week in the tub in a few inches of water so they can drink and rehydrate fully. I'd have to see a picture of the beardie to see if he/shes dehydrated though.

Re: Omfg!!!!
the beardie looks ok in the pic, but with that in the ad, I'm worried a new owner would think that he would never need water or a soak. And to the best of my knowledge, with a beardie eating every day or other day, they still poop at least every week... Mine used to be like clockwork every 3 days...

Re: Omfg!!!!
Yeah I really hate to see sellers on the classifieds downgrading the care requirements of the animals in order to get rid of them/sell them.

Re: Omfg!!!!
A lot of people think they don't drink, even people at the beardeddragon.org, which are supposed to be experts. Mine will drink water if they haven't been fed a lot of veggies. I've seen this with my own eyes.
