Grande Terre Type C

Hi. I was wondering if anyone had any photos of their GT Type C or Type C crosses. I had just picked up juvenile Grande Terre Type C x A. The juvenile male that I picked up from Philippe from Advanced Visions has a very unique pattern and coloration for a Grande Terre. I will post photos of the little guy as soon as I can. He is pretty big especially for being only three months old. The father is 100% Type C (Tremper) and the mother is a Type C x A.

Re: Grande Terre Type C

Alfredo good luck getting any pics of Type Cs, nobody that keeps type Cs has time to take pics of them. It's really annoying, I've been trying to get somebody to take a picture of one next to a ruler for over a year now with no luck. If you can somehow get someone to take a pic of their full grown type C next to a ruler I'll pay you like $20. I've offered $30 for somebody to provide a pic of what they have labeled as "the longest leachianus" but nobody has taken pics of anything over 14 inches for me. Grrrr. I'm a really chill person and almost never get angry but the lack of pictures of the largerst locale of the largest species of gecko in existance kinda pisses me off.

Since you bought from Philippe maybe you can persuade him to get some pics for you? I've contacted Phil Tremper but he hasn't gotten back to me either. Neither has Philippe or Allen. Steve Cemelli has been the only major breeder kind enough to take ruler pictures of some of his animals for me.

This does bug me, too. Why is there so much secrecy surrounding them? If I had the biggest leachianus in the world, I probably wouldn't shut up about it. Maybe when they release the leachianus book, they will have some good photos of a type C with a yard stick in it.

Ya I found those pics a while ago. The problem is there are no rulers in those pics, they could be 8 inch long geckos for all anyone knows.

Re: Grande Terre Type C

Ok so I just spoke with Phil Tremper of Tremper's Lizard Ranch, he is the only other person to own fully grown Type C leachies other than Allen and Philippe. I asked him if he had any pics of them next to rulers, he does not. He also said that he wasn't willing to take any pics at this time, because he "Just doesn't really do that". I even offered him $50! Crap if someone offered me $50 for a pic I would take it as fast as I could! Phil was very nice and answered all my questions though, which I really appreciated. He also told me that he would almost rather get bit by one of his Gila Monsters than his Type C Leachies, just because it's that painful. He owns the original wild caught pair and estimates their age to be around 30 years (He bought them from the person who collected them in the wild as adults, after that person had them for 6-7 years, and Phil has had them for 15 years since). He also said they were well over a pound, and since 1 pound = about 450 grams, these geckos weigh well over 450 grams!!! The largest Type A I've heard of is 440 grams, but that is still uncomfirmed. Well it looks like we're fresh out of luck people. I'm sure if enough people poke and prod we will eventually get a pic of these mysterious monsters.
