Picky eaters

Hi, Its been two months with my leachies and I am still having problems with feeding them. I have tried repashy diet only, repashy diet and baby food, and also a mixture of mango juice, mango baby food, and diet. I am still trying to find something that works. I own 4 leachies, all are under a year old. I have two of them in shoebox tuppaware containers,1 in a 5 gallon tank, and the last one in a medium sized kritter keeper. I try feeding them every other night. I also mist twice a day. I also try hand feeding them so that they know what the food tastes like. I seem to be all out of ideas right now, but if someone can give me some more ideas that would be very helpful.

Re: Picky eaters

I wouldn't be adding anything to the diet they all of course will eat. Most leave the same food in for 2-3 days before removing and let them decide when to feed. If they are still small you may not be noticing that they are in fact eating, but if they have grown and you see poo bets are they already are eating fine. Just mix the diet with water or juice, but no baby food and leave them to decide. You may also want to invest in some larger cages soon when husbandry is off stress can cause them not to feed and also provide a water bowl

Re: Picky eaters

I had similar problem with some of my leachies. Patience is the key here. Try to make Repashy food mix more watery and leave it in the cage for 2 days. One of my leachies was not eating for almost 3 months, as scary as it sounds. I also tried to force feed her by submerging her mouth into the food and waiting for her to lick her nose. It worked a little bit. Good Luck and be patient.

Just being curious, what is the temperate, humidity? Do they have water bowls?
