You're longest incubation time.

I was just wondering what the longest incubation time is for ciliatus. I had a few eggs like 2 years back that took 112 days.Right now my first laid eggs of the season are sitting at 95 days and I'm getting a little excited (these eggs just look ready to pop) My personal guess is they hatch within the week but you never know..... Which is why I'm curious Whats you're longest incubation time?

Re: You're longest incubation time.

I've only had 2 sets of eggs hatch out, but the first set took about 105 days and the second set took 92 days. Both were hatched at room temperature.

Re: You're longest incubation time.

My average wait is around 120-130 days, but the longest wait for one of my ciliatus clutches was 141 days.
I normally keep them in the basement during the summer, that way they don't get temps over 72*F (average 68-70). By late September or early October when the furnace season starts, I move them upstairs because the basement can get to the low 60's after that. Three years ago, I forgot one delicup downstairs, the others had been moved up 3 or 4 weeks earlier. These eggs hatched without problems even though the temperature was 61-63F most of those weeks.

Re: You're longest incubation time.

My average this year is around the 100 to 120 days but wow, its it worth the wait as the babies are so much bigger. They look like 2 months old.

Ya know Betty in my experence I agree when I wait longer the geckos always seem much more developed and some even appear to be more aesthetically pleasing

That was interesting Hilde and though that isnt very scientific It helps to back the theory its better to go with the longer cooler incubation time
