Re: I so blame you guys!

The fact that your gecko was with other gargs and still has a tail amazes me!

My male, Dexter arrived with a calcium deficiency as well, his tail is perfect now. The breeder tried to state that they were that way because they have a prehensile tail, I didn't believe that nonsense one bit, I shot back "Funny I never see any of Allen or Anthony's gargs like that"... she never responded. Definitely with some tlc it will get better.

Are you feeding one part CGD? I'm surprised she hasn't got a taste for it yet, Dexter eats more of the CGD than my cresties do. Good flavors to start if you haven't tried the two-part, Apricot (all my rhacs love it) Mango or Rose are definitely some favorites, so I'd say you'd be guaranteed she will eat it with any of those.

I personally wouldn't hand feed the garg. As dcarter has stated she knows where her food dish is and will eat the food when she's settled in and feels comfortable enough to eat it. Just be sure you put her dish in the same spot and give it some cover that way she doesn't feel vulnerable when eating. I wouldn't feed her waxworms either, they have no nutritional value besides being very fattening and addicting. Then again I don't think cresties or gargs like worms period, didn't have luck with phoenix worms, would definitely never try waxworms or mealworms (for obvious reasons)

I never really feed insects so I will pick her up some crickets once in a while.

She FINALLY ate. She took a hugggggggge chunk out of the bowl.

I have one part and two part but right now I am using the one part.

She's 11.4 grams, is that a baby? I have no idea what weight they hatch out at.

Re: I so blame you guys!

Sounds like by weight she is probably a juvenile, but feeding schedules can affect weight so much who knows what she was fed before or how often. Did you ask how many months she was? If they were selling her as a true her she can't be a hatchling so I am going with juvi.

They sold her as a probable female. I believe she said 3-4 months old.

She's really active, really healthy! They fed -ugh- baby food with vitamins once in a while, and the cgd diet and crickets.
