Re: San Diego Herping Pics- extreme DUW
Awesome pictures. All the treefrog pictures are of California Treefrogs Hyla cadaverina. Also the juvenile fence lizard is actually a Side-blotched Lizard Uta stansburianafemale and isn't a juvie. I haven't been back to San Diego desert in five and a half years. Hope to get back soon. Mark

I enjoyed the company and you guys are welcome back any time. I know how hard it was for you to enjoy yourself with the news of Michael Jackson passing at the same time. Derek spent a long time telling us of his days at Never Never Land and how he had mixed feelings about his experience as a young boy there :O

Re: San Diego Herping Pics- extreme DUW
Awesome pics man! I would love to make it to San Diego sometime. We went on a road trip to Vegas for my sister's wedding in February then dipped down into Mexico after that, and everywhere in between. We didn't have much time, but I was dying to see any sort of wildlife. Despite the little venturing we did, I managed to see some big horn sheep and a few desert lizards. I want to go on a herping adventure though, where my sole purpose would be to hunt out herps. I'm jealous

Re: San Diego Herping Pics- extreme DUW
I should have went with everyone after the gekkoni expo
or whenever, I ended up getting ransacked by F&G and received a nice $1,000 ticket. *sigh*Hooray for me and my inexperience! I just went to Palm Springs on Friday night, absolutely nothing could be found (but again, I dont know what I'm doing) and back to Borrego last night. We actually continued on to the Salton Sea so we wouldn't be within the State Park, only found 1 hatchling coleonyx. You plan on coming back to SD anytime soon, Derek? Would like to go herping with someone who has a bit more experience. I was walking around looking at nothing but dirt all day/night. |
