Exporting geckos

Anybody here ever brought geckos over to the Hamm show in Germany? I'm specifically looking for what's involved in bringing C.B. Uproplatus from the US to Germany. I'm trying to figure out where to start and for things like how does one prove their animals are C.B. and who do you prove it to.

I know several people that do this (export/import animals from one country to/from another) on a regular basis. Unless you are willing/can do it on some large scale, the cost involved is just excessive. For reference, when I inquired about importing a large group of Phelsuma, the total cost involved was right around $500 including associated CITES paperwork. That's on top of the cost of the animals and would be considered excessive unless one was spending thousands on the animals in the first place.
