What is the deal with the classifieds? Will they be for the forum members? Will they cost anything? Will they be up and running soon? Enlighten me

Hello Eli,
I am back from my holiday, and ready to start posting again.....
The classifieds are going to be where I post individual pics of geckos for sale with multiple pics and info. It will be only for stuff I have for sale. I am using the classified program and restricting uploads to myself so that I can post, manage, and edit geckos for sale without using any html, and I can do it from anywhere........ Look for some really nice geckos for sale in the next few weeks. I will be selling sexed sub adult Cresteds to start, and yes, I will be selling females :)
Stay Tuned... Allen

hey Repashy will members or guests be able to post on the classifieds also? Cause that would be awesome and probably make this site more active. Peace -josh

Yeh, will the classified be open to all members?
I noticed Anthony had one of his smokin' Red Harlequins up for sale.

Hey Guys,
The classifieds will only be animals that I have for sale. Anthony and I will be partnering up on these ads because I just don't have the time to set individuals aside, photograph them, post pics and deal with the flood of questions. I will be sending him gecko's a couple dozen at a time and he will do all the "dirty work" of posting and selling them for me. This way, I can just set aside the really nice geckos when I see them and Anthony can do the rest. This way, people can get some really nice animals that otherwise would be unavailable to most people.
I just sent Anthony 12 male and 12 female sub adult sexed ciliatus to start off... They won't be cheap, but they will be high quality sexed selects such as pinstripes, reds, and others. most of them will be the "one in a hundred" .. top 1% type specimens...
Since selling crested geckos is what I am in the business of, it wouldn't make sense to have other people selling there geckos on my site and competing with me. I know you might not agree with it, but the bottom line is that I am in the business of selling geckos. I will have to sell a heck of a lot of geckos just to pay for the building and maintenance of this website. You wouldn't believe me if I told you how much I have spent getting this site running.
Thanks, Allen

Hi all,
Allen you have a great point. You have provided soo much for us on this site and i know we are all grateful for this. I hope to purchase a decent fire x tiger male soon. I am not certain when i will be able to purchase one but i know i will be purchasing some. I hope they are as good as you say or as good as Anthony's. I also would like you to check out the picture of my gecko i purchased from anthony over two months ago. And how you determine how one is better than the other besides color. Because other than color and type I dont understand how someone raising some can be any different from someone else taking care of these creatures? If you have info on how quality differs sooo greatly please reply as soon as you can. Thanks -Josh

Come on Anthony.... what are you doing over there... It's like you have another life or something. LOL.. get those pics up
I know you really want some of those geckos, but I want to launch the site with some stuff I probably won't have available for a while once they are sold..... If they don't sell in two weeks. then you can buy them.... I bet you wish we didn't work out this deal now. :)

Ok I can see that I am not going to be the only one awaiting the new cresteds. This is my simple request, please email me a date and time when the geckos will become available. If they were to just pop up while I was say hanging out with some friends I'de kick myself in the ass for weeks to come. I cannot continue to check this site nearly 50 times a day like I have been for the last week. If your not up to doing me this favor than at least post it for everyone to see, so we know.
Thanks,
Eli :D

Hey guys,
Just a little update. We're currently having some issues with the integration of the classifieds on the forums. We don't want to hold up the new geckos, so in the event that we don't get things straightened out immediately, they can be viewed at http://www.classifieds.repashy.com.
Here's some info to hopefully clear up some confusion about how things will work.
I will be shooting photos of all the geckos tomorrow during the day and then hopefully post them tomorrow evening...without prices. After they're posted, Allen and I will then discuss each animal in detail and then assign prices to them according to sex (more about that below), color, pattern, etc. The geckos will likely start at around $100 or so and go up into the $400-500 range.
Interestingly enough, some of the most valuable ones are going to be males, simply due to the fact that they can pass on their genes to probably 8-10 times the number of babies that a female can. An easy way to think about it is this; If you had 1.9 crested geckos and 9 were plain brown and one was an albino purple spotted dalmatian, what sex would you want that one to be?
BTW, there is no such thing as an albino purple spotted dalmatian...yet. :)
We also have 2.2 great looking R. sarasinorum that will be available...including a really neat peppered male. If any of you have been thinking of getting into them, now is the time. Photos of those will be listed tomorrow evening as well.
As far as shipping goes, they will all be shipped out from my place, so if any of you have shipments coming from me, I can ship Allen's geckos with your current orders without you having to pay extra shipping. I'm currently sold out (and will be for some time), but in the future, this will be a great way for people to save on shipping while buying Allen's stock and my stock at the same time.
Anyway, I hope that answers some of your questions...and try not to lose too much sleep tonight. :D

No...Actually, I have no other life. We worked all day yesterday getting the "facility" rearranged to accomidate more rack systems without having to put them in my office (two stories up).
Thanks for reminding me how bad this sucks. I feel like an alcoholic bar tender who hasn't had a drink all day.
That's OK...I'm counting the days...two weeks and they're MINE!!!! :D

So how is this classifieds section going to work?
Is there a "buy" button or will we be emailing Anthony to let him know that we want it?

Hey guys,
We're working on it right now. I just posted some crappy pics of a really nice red female (which I'm going to re-take).
Allen just left for jiu-jitsu. When he gets back in a couple hours, we'll go through and price them and then we'll be ready to go.
There is a "Contact Seller" button at the top of the ad. Just click on that to email me via the forum. To pay, we're going to set up a new email address for payments to be sent to.
It'll probably be pretty late before everything's running, but we're working on it as fast as we can.
Thanks,
Anthony
