Got this new little gem in the mail today and boy shes fiesty! Right out of the box she was barking and biting, but thats a normal tokay right? Just want to thank Cliff for her and I can't wait to see how big she gets and hopefully tame, I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one.

here she is right out of the box and in her new home.

Looks nice, I heard you can tame them buying wearing latex gloves, they don't like the taste when they bite it or something??

not 100% sure on that, I believe I read it a while back though.

well I can tell you thats not true with her cause I had to wear them to get her out bc I have a ton of cuts on my hands and I did not want to have her tear them open again. she has no problem biting let me tell ya : )

I am glad you like her, and she got to you in good condition. I hope you have good luck with taming her. Keep posting pics as she gets bigger, she was one of my fav so I am really curious to see how she turns out.

thanks everyone for the comments. Cliff got another pic of her today after holding her a bit. She was a little fiesty at first but calmed down pretty quick and stopped biting. I weighed her today and shes 22 grams. Shes also been crickets and some peach diet for me already.

Thats good to hear that she is eating well for you. Hopefully if you keep working with her she will calm down alot. You just don see very many calm tokays. At least you are working with her while she is young and her bites dont hurt yet, wait till she is full grown and she tags you. I can tell you from experience that pet shop/wc tokay bite is nothing compared to a nice healthy cbb tokay, the will put the hurting on you lol.

well I hope I have her calm before then ; ) I just get a kick out of her barking at me. Who knew something so little could be so loud esp when I spary her, she does not like that at all!

I dont think any tokays like being sprayed, even my adults. I did find that if you use a misting system they love that. I had a pro-mist set up on my tokays for a while and everythime it would go off they would get in the mist and then they would drink from the nozle after it shut off and some of the water was dripping from it. If I try to use any type of hand sprayer they hate it.

Mine like it when I spray, they come running over and start drinking lol.
