Hi all, I'm new here and I'm enjoying the great info in this forum...:)

I just had a question/comment. I have a gold dust day gecko that has been eating DGD mixed with **** food - she won't take it straight (and to be honest, I haven't pushed the cold turkey method). Anyway, I have just gotten my first cresteds, and bought some of the new 2 part diet for them. I put some in the day gecko's cage on a whim - and she licked the "plate" clean (she's never done that before). Now I'm thinking I'll just feed her the same as the cresties. I know the protein is a little different between the two formulas, but since she wasn't eating the DGD alone anyway, I'm thinking this might be better. Any comments? Thanks!

Day geckos really seem to like the increased flavor and smell of the two part system. They should take it straight up no problem. Right now, after talking with several phelsuma heads. I am recommending that it can be fed 50/50 Base/Diet ratio to phelsuma, as they are higher energy and most likely consume more calories than Rhacodactylus. I just got six sub adult grandis from Gecko Ranch that I will work with and feed this mixture to exclusively with no insects to back up what I have been told by others that they will do great on it without insects at all.... Stay tuned and keep posting your feedback...... Allen

Thanks Allen, I'll put her on the 50/50 mix and see how she does. This 2 part diet seems like such an improvement over the original (it smells better, anyway :) ) Thank you so much for your hard work developing it. Sue

Allen does the MRP diet for phelsuma contain the right amount of calcium to phosphorus ratio? I offer the diet to my grandis along with dusted insects, and egg shells.

Hi Sue, I have been posting here about Phelsuma use of the two-part diet ever since it came out, you might try a search on the topics and nose around in the superfoods sections. It works great, I haven't tried a flavor yet they have not liked, using as Allen suggests. Where in Norcal are you? I have a full line of all Allen's foods and enough Phelsuma to make your head spin! You and all forum members are welcome to visit.

Thanks Julie, I only noticed the threads about using the diet in the different rhacs, guess I should have done a search. I'm about an hour south of Sacramento - good to know you're fairly close, when I need more food I'll definitely give you a call! Sue

Do you think I would make a MRP that had the wrong calcium to phosphorus ratio?

I know this thread is pretty old, but I was wondering if you could feed a phelsuma CGD, and just enhance it with a drop of honey, then get the consistency right with water. I would just use this as a complete diet if I couldn't get the real complete diet.

I don't have any experience feeding Phelsuma CGD, they do like the two part foods well though.
