I had 2 Chahoua eggs that have been shelf incubated.
The first one hatched at day 103. The second one did not hatch,
so I decided to slit it open on day 109. The hatchling came out looking
perfect. It did take a few minutes for it to come to life. It is looking great and healthy after 12 hours. Here is some pics:

Not to be technical, but usually when chahouas take more than 100 days to hatch, they're female.

Agreed. You got lucky. The next nine times you do that you will smoke the hatchlings. If a gecko can't hatch out on it's own I personally feel it's not strong enough for me to want it in my collection. They will hatch if and when they are ready.

AGREED.
109 days is not exceptionally long for chahoua incubation. I've had them go much longer.

Wow, I thought 109 days was a new record, but after a little research I should have waited. What is the most days a Chahoua has been in the egg for? I just read 116 days. Has anyone heard of longer? PLease let me know.
Thanks Allen, JayS and Mfeit for the info. See you all in Tinley.

I don't know the record but I know of a gecko species that went over 500 days. Please don't ask for specifics as I will not answer the request. Not my place the right person will document it in a journal article in time.

The chahouas I just hatched incubated for 170 days.

Eggs were laid 4/20 and hatched on 10/7. :)
