you could try to gently remove it and see how it goes, so long as your gentle you shouldn't have any problems, you can use a moist q-tip to try and roll it off or maybe a small pair of tweezers, although I think a moist q-tip would probably be less stressful and easier to use.

If you feel that this is a problem try slightly moistening the area with room temperature bottled water several times a day. You can attempt to work off the stuck shed by VERY CAREFULLY rubbing it off with your fingers while supporting the gecko in your hand, or allowing it to work off by itself which is what I recommend. I found that these procedures worked for me in my experience with this type of problem. Otherwise the stuck skin should come off with the next shed.

Not a big worry if its only been 3 days. What I've done in the past is make sure the environment is a bit more humid than normal. That usually helps. You really shouldn't try to help it get the shed off as this could cause damage to the skin. Recently, I had a gecko that had a bit of shed left on it's toes. Around the mouth and on the toes are the only areas I really would worry much about. I added about an inch of warmish water (very important to make sure the water is room temp and check it often replacing water as it cools down to keep a consistent temp) to a rubbermaid container. I let the gecko soak for about a half hour, put her back in her container and the shed was off that evening.
There are 'Shed' removal liquids available but I've never tried these and would be a bit reluctant.
Hope this helps,
Wally

i put a bowl or something with a lid high enough so they cant jump out, or push the top open, and fill it with just enough water to cover their hands or to their wrists and put that in their tank with them in it for abot 15 min (make sure the lid is vented if you use that) - i do this to make sure the skin comes off the fingers and if they let their tail sit in the water thats a plus too. keep an eye out for left over skin rings on their hands too, they can lose fingers that way if left untouched and let dry.

Do you have a moist hidebox set up for egg-laying and shedding? That would solve a lot of stuck shed issues.

is that to me or leopardlunatic?

i dont have shed problems at all, i just take precautions so i dont. i dont do that soaking all the time, but when the humidity in the room noticably goes down i normally do this a lot just in case

Yes, to you. You should consider it as they really enjoy humid hideboxes. Think about what primarily nocturnal terrestrial lizards do doing the day - they hang out in dark moist burrows. It is a psychological comfort as well as practical. :)

My favorite for adults is a Cool Whip tub, not sure you have those over in Europe! ;) Get a plastic tub with a lid like butter comes in and cut a hole in the top just big enough for the gecko to get in and out. Do not worry about jagged edges; they will use these to help shed. I like to use vermiculite for adults, this is also not available everywhere and a good alternate is spaghnum peat moss. It should be moist to the touch and not sopping wet. For juvies under six months see the Eublepharine topic, I have a post with photos on how to set one up for them. Use paper towel strips with juvies, they tend to ingest substrates even in their moist hideboxes. Troublemakers!

what the hell is vermiculite?!?! and where do i get the sphagnum moss from? (i did a project on that stuff in biology but bogs where it grows are SSS sites)

You may be able to find both vermiculite and spaghum peat moss at your local nursery or a place that sells plants. Vermiculite is used by plant folks to keep roots moist in plant applications. It has been declared a carcinogen so I expect to see it less as time goes on. Sphagnum peat moss is a nice moist substrate used by plant people also.

I have a smiler problem with a baby Crested Gecko, on two toes one on each back foot I am worried as it seems like it almost has two toes growing together but I think that one of them is the shed. kinda weird its only 6 weeks old so I don't want it to lose its toe if at all possible. I have it soaking its back feet in a soaked paper towel little plastic tub. but I am having a tough time helping it get off with a cue tip, I am reluctant to try tweezers as it is so small now. Any help would be great.

Keep the gecko in a moist cup for a few hours and then tweezers. Then work on humidity in the terrarium.
