I always email companies when something like that happens. (small piece breaks or gets damaged) They will usually have some spare ones laying around and ship you a couple extras just to keep you in good standings. Sometimes you have to keep telling them but it works. Companies also need to know when this stuff is happening so they can replace that part with maybe a more durable one. If no one tells them, they will never change anything.

Mine still works and I bought it oh a year or 2 ago. I just don't use at as much as you probably did.
